Lucknow Super Giants didn’t start well as their skipper KL Rahul went back to the pavilion without even facing a ball after miscommunication while running in between the wickets but Deepak Hooda and De Kock managed to build the innings well as De Kock scored a half-century in just 29 balls while Hooda scored 41 runs in 27 balls. KKR was bowling well in the middle overs and even in the final 5 overs before Shivam Mavi leaked 30 runs in the 19th over as Stoinis hit a hat trick of maximums before getting out on the 4th ball and then Jason Holder sent the next 2 balls over the boundary rope which changed the whole momentum of the match. Andre Russel picked up 2 wickets for KKR.

While chasing, KKR stumbled as they were 25/4 at some point of the game before Andre Russell came in and like always became the only hope for the KKR dugout and fans but he couldn’t deliver more without much support from another end as he scored 45 runs in just 19 deliveries, on any other day Russell could have made more impact on the game and even take the game in favor of KKR. Sunil Narine also scored a quickfire 22 in 12 balls but KKR got all out on 101 as Avesh Khan and Jason Holder grabbed 3 wickets each for Lucknow.

Brief Scores: LSG 176 for 7 (Quinton de Kock 50 off 29 balls, Deepak Hooda 41 off 27 balls, Andre Russell 2/22) defeated KKR 101 in 14.3 overs (Andre Russell 45, Avesh Khan 3/19, Jason Holder 3/31) by 75 runs.
