Ishan Kishan, the costliest buy in TATA IPL 2022 auction, showed immense maturity in his batting innings as he made it possible for the Mumbai Indians innings to reach a fighting total of 177/5 with his unbeaten 81 against Delhi Capitals in their IPL match on Sunday.

After playing as a second-fiddle to the MI skipper Rohit Sharma who scored 41 inside the Power Play overs, Kishan came on his own to smash his 3rd fifty in a row for MI, and 10th overall. Delhi put some breaks on the MI batting innings in the middle overs, thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s fine bowling effort of 4-0-18-3 which included the important wickets of MI skipper Rohit Sharma and the experienced all-rounder, Kieron Pollard, on just 3 runs. But the presence of Kishan was not enough till the end for the MI  as the DC middle-order comfortably chased down the target even without their A team due to the absence of some players because of international duties.

Brief Scores: Delhi Capitals: 179/6 (Ishan Kishan 81*, Rohit Sharma 41; Kuldeep Yadav 3/18) defeated Mumbai Indians (Lalit Yadav 48*, Axar Patel 38*; Basil Thampi 3/35) by 4 wickets.
