The Indian selection committee which is headed by Chetan Sharma has officially announced the Indian squads for the T20I and Test series against Sri Lanka on Saturday. Rohit Sharma, who was appointed as India’s new white-ball skipper a few months back, is now India’s full-time skipper in the red-ball format as well.

The hitman’s appointment as the Indian skipper in tests came after Virat Kohli’s decision to step down from the captainship following India’s Test series loss to South Africa in January. Jasprit Bumrah became the Vice Captain for both T20 & Test.  Due to being out of form, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the Test squad.

The Indian All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also made a comeback in the squad for the Sri Lanka white-ball series after recovering from an injury. Wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson replaced Pant for the three-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and hosts India.
