The Indian cricket team is trying to fit the team combination ahead of the ICC T20I World Cup to be held in Australia.
India have taken a 2-1 lead in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against West Indies. For this series, India’s experienced spinner R Ashwin has been given a place in the team by the selectors. Former Indian opener K Srikanth has questioned his place in the team.
Srikkanth said, “It is a very big question. I am completely confused about Ashwin. Why he was dropped from the team, then why was he not part of the team, why was he not playing in the T20I series in England. Now why he was suddenly made a part of the T20I team against West Indies. It is a very confusing thing for all of us.”
The Indian team included R Ashwin in the playing XI in the first three matches against the West Indies. After playing the first three matches, Ashwin’s performance has been average. He has taken a total of 3 wickets after giving 80 runs in 12 overs. The best was two wickets for 22 runs.
Your spinner is Jadeja, the other spinner will be either Chahal or Axar Patel or Ashwin, then there will be a reserve spinner. Out of these four spinners, only two will be with the team. Normally I don’t understand why Ashwin, maybe It is because he is an all-rounder that he has got a place but my first choice would be Chahal as a spinner because he is a wrist spinner.
