England cricket team captain Jos Buttler is hopeful that the 7-match T20I series with Pakistan will go a long way in raising the enthusiasm of millions of people who have been affected by the devastating floods in the country.

The England team came on their first tour of Pakistan on Thursday after 17 years. The team will prepare for the T20I World Cup to be held in Australia next month by playing a series of seven T20I Internationals from next week.

Butler said, “It is a difficult time that the people of Pakistan are facing floods. As a team, we are donating some amount. The board (England and Wales Cricket Board) will also give the same amount. This is a small effort to help the needy people.”

Hopefully we will be able to increase the enthusiasm of the people by playing exciting cricket. Most of the England players, including Butler, are touring Pakistan for the first time. Alex Hales, Moeen Ali and Liam Dawson, who returned to the team, have however featured in the Pakistan Super League.

Ben Stokes, Chris Jordan and Liam Livingstone withdrew from the tour but are part of England’s T20I World Cup squad. The England team will play four T20I Internationals in Karachi from September 20 to 25.

The remaining three matches will be played in Lahore from September 28 to October 2. England cricket last visited England in the year 2005. On this tour, the team played a series of three Tests and five ODIs, in which they had to face defeat badly. Pakistan defeated England 2-0 in Tests and 3-2 in ODIs.

However, in these 17 years, both the teams have changed almost completely. At the same time, the England team is in its excellent form in T20I. In such a situation, it is not going to be so easy for Pakistan to defeat the visiting team this time.

Apart from this, the morale of the Pakistani team has fallen a lot after the defeat in the final of the Asia Cup. Apart from this, some players of the team are also battling with poor form and injury, which has added to their problems.
