Sri Lanka got a big blow before the beginning of the 2nd test against India, as they will miss their important players- Dushmantha Chameera and Pathum Nissanka as they are 1-0 down in the 2 match test series against India.
Chameera also missed the 1st test and now it’s officially that he has not fully recovered from his ankle injury. The Sri Lankan team management prioritize keeping him fresh and fit for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and most probably, Chameera will only play white-ball games.
‘The [Sri Lanka team] medical panel has told us that we have to manage his injury till the T20 World Cup and that he should be used (only) for white-ball cricket,’ Dimuth Karunaratne officially stated.
Sri Lanka will literally miss the solidity which Pathum Nissanka provides in their batting line-up. His 61 run innings was one of the only few positive points for the visitors in the 1st Test against India, which they lost by an innings and 222 runs.
