The history between Real Madrid and Liverpool

Liverpool and Real Madrid faced each other off in Paris in the 1981 finals of the UEFA Champions League and Liverpool won that encounter by 1-0 and won the glory. After 28 years in the 2008-09 season, both teams faced each other in the Quater Finals, Liverpool won the first leg by 4-0 at Anfield, and in the 2nd leg, Liverpool won by 1-0 and got promoted to the next round on an aggregate on 5-0. Now coming to the 2014-15 season, both teams were in Group B, and in the first match at Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid won by 1-0 and in the 2nd leg at Anfield Real Madrid won by 3-0. The final of the 2018-19 Champions League final was the last time these 2 teams meet in the UCL final and Mohammed Salah got injured and unfortunately got substituted in the first half. Real Madrid scored the opening goal and it was Karim Benzema which was later equalized by Sadio Mane through a corner. Gareth Bale’s overhead bicycle kick again took Madrid into the lead by 2-1 and then went on to score a brace and Real Madrid won their 3rd consecutive Champions League by 3-1. Last season, these 2 teams met in Quarterfinals, Real Madrid won at their home by 3-1 and the 2nd leg was drawn by 0-0 and Real Madrid reach the semi-finals on an aggregate of 3-1.

Let’s see who will clinch the glory tonight? Will it be Klopp’s Liverpool or Ancelotti’s Real Madrid? We will find this out tonight!
