Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener officially rejoined the Zimbabwe senior men’s national team as their batting coach and his appointment was confirmed by the Zimbabwe Cricket Board during the official meeting held on Monday.

After the meeting, Craig Ervine was also officially announced as Zimbabwe’s white-ball captain while Sean Williams will be leading Zimbabwe’s Test side.

“He is taking over from Stuart Matsikenyeri, who now moves to the position of assistant coach, while Lalchand Rajput remains in charge as head coach of the national side,” stated officially.

Klusener previously also served as Zimbabwe’s batting coach from 2016 till 2018. He was head coach of the Afghanistan national team previously before rejoining the Zimbabwe Cricket Board as the batting coach. In the meantime, Zimbabwe Cricket Board is in the process of finalizing the appointment of a bowling coach and a fitness trainer for the men’s national team.
