Shreyas Iyer is now in his prime beast mode as he hit another unbeaten half-century as the hosts India beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the third T20 International to clean sweep the three-match series in a comfortable way here on Saturday.
Chasing 147, India was on a good track as they were at 89/3 in 11 overs then the man in form Shreyas came up with another half-century scoring 73 from 45 balls to chase down the target with 19 balls to spare. From Sri Lanka Dasun Shanaka scored 74* runs in just 38 balls which was the only threat for the Indian team in the entire game, other than that there was not much problem created by the Sri Lankan side which could stop the hosts from clinching the victory.
The current best Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja once again played the perfect supporting role in the middle order with 22* from 15 balls as the duo together built an unbroken partnership of 45 runs to ensure a 3-0 clean sweep over the visitors by wrapping up the match in just 16.5 overs.
Brief Scores: Sri Lanka: 146/5 in 20 overs (Dasun Shanaka 74*(38); Avesh Khan 2/23) lost to India: 148/4 in 16.5 overs (Shreyas Iyer 73*, Ravindra Jadeja 22*).
