Indian bowler Deepak Chahar is now ruled out of India’s upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka due to a grade 2 tear in the right thigh of the bowler which he picked up during India’s third T20I against West Indies as on the last delivery of his second over, he pulled out of his bowling run-up and got down to the ground clutching his hamstring. The 29-year-old pacer seemed to be in a lot of pain as he limped back to the pavilion with the Indian physio team. Chahar left the team’s bio-secure bubble and will undergo about 5 to 6 weeks of rehab before getting back to his training.
The three-time IPL champions CSK spent ₹14 crores to re-sign him at the IPL 2022 Auction and it will be a concern for them.
Now, Who will replace Chahar? India has a load of options in hand to replace the Rajasthan-born pacer for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Most likely Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was rested for the third T20I against West Indies, will replace Deepak Chahar.
