The Indian opener KL Rahul has been reported to miss the upcoming tour of India to England as the BCCI plans to send the Indian vice-captain for medical treatment to Europe.

KL Rahul, who was selected to lead India in the T20 series against South Africa Rohit Sharma absence, was ruled out of the five-match series due to a groin injury, and then Rishabh Pant is leading the Indian side.

Rahul, who scored 315 runs in 4 Tests at 39.38 against England last year, hasn’t played for India since February and his last Test appearance was made in the month of January against South Africa.

3 best possible replacements to replace KL Rahul for the England Test:

  1. Shubhman Gill

Shubhman Gill has been impressive in the white-ball cricket, especially in the TATA IPL 2022 season and this young lad can get the chance to show his class in the coming tour to England. In the absence of KL Rahul, he can cement his place in the Indian squad with this opportunity. Previously he played his last test in December 2021 but lacks the ability to stay longer at the crease.

       2. Cheteshwar Pujara

Pujara has been an important factor in the Indian test side at 3rd position to bat on but he was not up to his standards in the previous few games in the white jersey for India but performed well in the county division cricket with an average of 143.4 in 7 matches. But still, his experience in his test career and ability to play at the crease for a longer time, portray the glimpses of Rahul Dravid. Pujara is the favorite to replace KL Rahul as on such a big tour we need a big match player like him.

      3. Hanuma Vihari

Hanuma Vihari has played previously  very crucial and passionate innings for the Indian team and also has the ability to stay longer at the crease if we ignore his last 4 to 5 matches. Hanuma Vihari can be a good fit in the current Indian squad and will be a suitable option to play in the middle order.
